They'll Outlive Us All
Date
Fall 2021
Material
acrylic paint, cotton canvas
My take on a traditional Vanitas still life, a reminder that we will die and that life is fragile.
Why do we put such value on some objects, spending lots of money on them, cherishing them and passing them down for generations? And why are some objects deemed worthless? Made quickly and cheaply, used once, and left to rot in a landfill for decades? Either in an old house or a pile of trash, most objects outlive us, so what's the point of all this stuff?
